Google has begun the process of reduction of the staff of Motorola Mobility, which will be reduced in 1,200 workers, representing more than 10% of the total.
The data come from the Wall Street Journal, which indicate that the employees of this division they received a message of its directors in which it explained that “the costs are very high, we are operating in markets where we are not competitive, and we’re losing money”.
A Motorola representative added that “these cuts are the” continuation of which were announced last summer. Obviously it is very hard for the employees concerned, and we are committed to help them in this difficult transition”.
Google announced in August of 2012 to recortaria the template in about 4,000 jobs in order to get to red numbers Motorola. In that goal Guy Kawasaki will also be heavily involved, that recently was hired as a consultant and that is expected to help a firm that so far has not given that expected recovery signs.
