Duel: Oneplus One Against Sony Xperia Z2

One is the winner in most comparative test we made since the phone came out, the other is the Challenger from the fledgling company that promises top models at half price. The specifications are similar. One is the winner.

Format & Quality

Oneplus One

Oneplus One is a great phone, so big that it could be the last for some. The curved back does, however, the phone feels thinner than what it is and is good in the hand. Oneplus One feels well built and well designed, and the rough surface on the back is made of plastic but will resemble sandstone. It makes the phone feels less plasticky and provides good grip.

Score: 4/5

Sony Xperia Z2

Xperia Z2 is a little less than Oneplus One, but a bit more angular shape makes it still doesn’t feel less in your hand. Front and rear side glass and frame in aluminium means that the phone is anything but plastic. Xperia Z2 ‘s ACE up their sleeve is that the phone is waterproof.

Systems & Software

Oneplus One

Cyanogenmod is called the interface that your phone uses over Android 4.4. It is basically Google’s own Android version, modified with a billion configuration options which is positive. There are few preinstalled programs, which is passed then it nor is mass services you don’t use that takes up memory and processing power.

Rating: 5 /5

Sony Xperia Z2

Sony’s Interface on Android 4.4 stows not about unnecessarily among settings and the like without stick pretty close to the standard android. But on the other hand, if you put in a lot of bloatware in the form of Web links to Sony services and third-party applications that cannot be removed. Sony has added better apps for the calendar and mail than Google’s half bad defaults.

Winner: Oneplus One

Screen

Oneplus One

Oneplus One has received a larger screen on nearly the same surface than what Sony has, but the difference is not so big that it is crucial. The screen is sharp and clear. The maximum brightness of the Oneplus Ones screen is a bit weaker than the Z2, and above all, in direct sunlight, they struggle to read the screen.

Score: 3 /5

Sony Xperia Z2

Sony doesn’t have the best screens on the market, compared with the likes of HTC and Samsung seems the easy as a trifle faded and watered down. But now, we compare with Oneplus One, and then Sony’s screen, slightly smaller, but also slightly brighter. Sony WINS that have added a reflecting layer that makes the display much easier to read in direct sunlight.

Winner: Sony Xperia Z2

Camera

Oneplus One

In this branch, it is Sony that competes against Sony. Camera sensor in Oneplus One is a Sony Exmor IMX 214 with 14 Megapixels, a sensor that Sony launched in February this year. Oneplus One boast even if the camera’s optics and recording of 4 k video, and certainly takes the pictures that are not ashamed of himself, but really in top class is not. It feels a bit limited and access settings is more complicated than it needed to be. Camera button is missing, too. Plus for that one can choose the degree of compression of the images.

Score: 4 /5

Sony Xperia Z2

Sony has added a larger sensor with 20 megapixels in Xperia Z2.This is noticeable on light sensitivity, and color reproduction also feels a little better. One can argue that the camera in the Z2 is the best camera phone on the market right now. Sony, however, its a bit hard compresses images allowing the details sometimes are lost unnecessarily when zoomed. Sony’s camera interface seems well thought out, and the important functions are easily accessible. Plus for the phone has camera button.

Performance & price

Oneplus One
To 64 Oneplus One comes with gigabyte storage memory is offset partly by only 55 gigabytes of which are available to the user, and that there is no place for memory cards. Otherwise, it will be with the fastest version of the Snapdragon chipset and 3 gigabytes of RAM not so much better than this. However, there will be less to only a part of the Swedish 4 g frequencies supported by the phone. But then, of course, is the price tag one by far, and takes it into account, it may just be the highest rating.

Rating: 5 /5

Sony Xperia Z2
In any event, if you spend a few hundred on the mobile subscription and can imagine to bind you is actually the Sony Xperia Z2 not quite so much more expensive than Oneplus One, but the price difference is there still.

Z2 has a slightly slower Snapdragon chipset, but it shows less than on performance tests. 16 GB storage memory is the smallest team, but space for memory cards are available in any case. Even Z2 has 3 gigabytes of RAM, however there is full support for the Swedish 4 g frequencies.

It will be an even struggle between Oneplus One and Sony Xperia Z2, where Oneplus One Stroke Z2 on the fingers in several genres. But details that better camera, better screen and that Z2 is waterproof makes Z2 still gets the better phone, even if the price difference in the calculation. But it does not prevent Oneplus One is a incredibly affordable phone.
